Biography
Zaheeruddin is currently Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Jamia Millia Islamia (A Central University), New Delhi, India since 2003. He received the B. Sc. Engg. Degree in Electrical Engg. in 1982, M. Sc. Engg. Degree in Electronics & Communication Engg. in 1988 from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh (UP), and a Ph. D. Degree in Computer Science from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi in 2002. He joined the Department as a temporary Lecturer from the very beginning of its establishment in 1986. He became permanent Lecturer in 1990, Reader in 1995, and Professor in 2003 in the same Department. He is the Coordinator for a PG course approved by All India Council for Technical Education leading to the award of the Degree of Master of Technology (M. Tech.) in “Control and Instrumentation Systemsâ€. He attended Welex Engineers Development Course at Duncan, Oklahoma, U.S.A. from March 5, 1984 to May 25, 1984. He was Visiting Researcher at the University of Missouri-Columbia, USA in 2003. Also he received Indian National Science Academy (INSA) Visiting Fellowship Award for the year 2004-05 to work with Prof. N. R. Pal in Computational Intelligence Lab. at Indian Statistical Institute Kolkata, India. Prof. Zaheeruddin is a Fellow of IETE (India). He is Life Member of World Federation of Soft Computing (U.S.A.), The Institution of Engineers (IE, India), Computer Society of India (CSI), Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), The Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), and Indian Chapter of The International Centre for Theoretical Physics (Indian Chapter of ICTP). He has published more than fifty research papers in the areas of soft computing, Noise Pollution, wireless sensor networks, and smart grid. He is Reviewer of many International journals published from IEEE, Elsevier, Springer Verlag, and ACTA Press
