Biography
Mi Lu received the MS and PhD degrees in electrical engineering from Rice University, in 1984 and 1987, respectively. She joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, Texas A&M University in 1987, and is currently a professor. Her research interests include parallel computing, computer architectures, computer networks, energy efficiency, and VLSI algorithms. She has published a book and 160 technical papers in these areas. She has served as guest editor of Journal of Computer Science and Engineering, Scientific and Academic Publishing, associate editor of the Journal of Computing and Information, and the Information Sciences Journal. Lu was the conference chairperson of the Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh International Conference on Computer Science and Informatics. She served on the panels of the National Science Foundation, of the IEEE Workshop on Imprecise and Approximate Computation’92, and on the program committees of many conferences. She has been the chairperson of nearly 50 research advisory committees for PhD/Master students. She is a senior member of the IEEE. She has been recognized in Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who of American Women, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, and Who’s Who in American Education.
