Biography
Dr. Ali is actively involved, as Principal Investigator, in various AICTE, UGC and DST funded research and development activities in areas of Smart Grid, Substation Communication Network, Broadband over Power Line (BPL), IEC61850 based systems and Smart Grid Real Time Digital Simulation studies. He has been awarded DST (GoI) FIST Grant of Rs. 2.03 Crores, as DST FIST Program Coordinator, for developing research facilities in the area of Smart Grid in the Department of Electrical Engineering. His research work regularly gets published in reputed Journals/International Conferences of IEEE, Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, Springer etc. He is the Coordinator of SCADA & Smart Grid Technologies Lab and Coordinator of POSOCO (PGCIL) Training Programme of the Department of Electrical Engineering. Dr. Ali is a Senior Member in IEEE and an expert lecturer on the topics related to Smart Grid Technologies, Substation Automation Trends and Communication Networks for Substation Automation. Dr. Ali had received the Mentor Award in 2015 approved by the IEEE Standards Education Committee. Dr. Ali graduated from Zakir Hussain College of Engineering & Technology, AMU, Aligarh and received his M.Tech. degree in Control & Guidance from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee and Ph.D. from JMI, New Delhi.
